Position: Head of Access Services and Systems
12-month tenure-track faculty position
Responsibilities: Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates personnel in the Access Services areas of circulation, interlibrary loan, microforms and media, and stacks maintenance in order to provide quality service to students, faculty, staff, and community users. Provides necessary coverage in staffing access services areas. Serves as System Administrator for the Library in its participation as a member of LOUIS, the statewide library network, and provides systems support for the Library. Oversees the operation and maintenance of the print management system. Serves as the Library’s webmaster. Demonstrates effective leadership in evaluating existing services, planning and implementing new services, and adopting new policies and procedures in response to the evolving needs of library patrons. Participates as a member of the library management group and works closely with the library administration in planning for new services.
Required: ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree. At least 2 years of professional library experience with a minimum of 2 years library experience in an access services area. Experience in computer networking, server operation, and systems support. Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and computer skills. Ability to foster teamwork and maintain a collegial environment. Commitment to patron service.
Preferred: Experience with SirsiDynix library automation systems. Supervisory experience.
