LALINC-L: Petition to Save Statistical Abstract

Dear Folks,

The budget that was just approved by Congress was for fiscal year
2011, so the discussions about the 2012 budget that would eliminate
the Statistical Abstract of the United States are just about to
begin. There's still time to ask Congress not to defund the
Statistical Compendia Branch.

If you'd like to sign a petition in favor of saving the Statistical
Abstract, here's a link:

There's also a Facebook group devoted to this issue:

There will be many important issues to debate related to the 2012
budget, so it will take a concerted effort on our part to make our
voices heard amongst all the other noise.
