I sent out the letter from Belle to Mr. Levy, BoR, last week. If you missed it we posted it on our website under News and Announcements ( www.louislibraries.org ). I imagine your campus should also be receiving a letter from her.
I wanted to take a moment and thank those instrumental in getting Dr. Wheelan involved. You may recall that Emma Perry, SUBR, serves on the SACS Commission. In that role she has unique access to Dr. Wheelan and spoke to her about the LOUIS funding issue. Dr. Wheelan indicated her commitment to help. From there, Jessica Hutchings, McNeese, and Tony Fonseca, Nicholls, crafted a draft letter with all the necessary details for Dr. Wheelan to use in her own letter. Emma forwarded the draft to Belle for her use. Also instrumental was Michael Matthews, NSULA and Carla Clark, LSUS, that pulled together the addresses that Emma sent along with the letter.
These 5 people are indicative of the power of the consortium. When you can pull experts from around the state to serve a specific purpose that benefits the entire state, we have proven, again, why LOUIS is so successful. It is because of the commitment from each and every person in LOUIS.
